Eat, Pray Love is a memoir written in 2006 by world renowned American author, Elizabeth Gilbert. The book tells the story of Gilbert’s self-exploration after her divorce from her first husband. Follow her journey through Italy, India and Indonesia. Though this book is an oldie, it is definitely still a goodie. Every woman should read this book.

The motto of this Dutch book reads, “van meisje me dromen naar vrouw met succes”. This translates to: “from a girl with dreams, to a woman with success”. I bought this book on the spur of the moment at Schipol Airport and I am so happy I did! The book is filled with wonderful life and career advice from 23 young, driven and empowering women.

Gemaklik in Jou Eie Lyf is an Afrikaans self-help book by actress, style icon and motivational speaker, Leandie du Randt. This book ultimately aims to help young women to be their best self. The book consists of a three week practical course that is aimed at dealing with different issues women face daily. Though Gemaklik in Jou Eie Lyf is actually written for teenagers, women of all ages can learn a lot about themselves from du Randt’s advice and the practical exercises.
