Pajamas + Jam

Intro

It is a particularly beautiful Monday in the Western Cape, and Lieze and I have just less than a month before we have to get on an airplane to Shanghai, China. So we decided to treat ourselves at our favourite coffee shop in Somerset West, Pajamas & Jam. Every time I enter this hidden gem I am mesmerised by the cakes, the décor, the food and authenticity of this place. The place, however, is packed like always. We are surrounded by the smell of fresh bread and cake. We sit down at the nearest little table and we order both lunch and dessert. Not only is the food good, but its presentation is also visually satisfying. If you have not been to this chic coffee shop yet, I would advise you to do it as quickly as possible. You won’t be disappointed!

What I had

Drinks

Me: Watermelon juice

Lieze: Watermelon juice

Food

Me: Chicken wrap with avocado, caramelised onion & honey glazed bacon

Lieze: Crumbed chicken & avocado on toasted ciabatta

For dessert

We shared a pomegranate cheesecake!

Next Time

Next time I will order the Breakfast Pan with a café latte. And for a true South-African taste, I hope that they have the koeksister-cheesecake again!

Good to know

  • Parking is restricted as it it is in the industrial area.

  • The place is very busy so I would advise you to book a table, especially on weekends or when you come from far.

  • Pajamas & Jam is closed on Sundays.

Until the next coffee shop
